Hey Guys after one day of iPhone use I have some observations. Yes I got an iPhone. I even waited online.
-ATT is not a Friendly company. Apple sales experience is still king. ATT had more problems getting me going. Apple's staff handled everything with a smile.
-Is the phone faster than my MS Phone. Yes and Yes. Even with some of the reported slow-ups (I.E. Contacts taking a 1-3 secs to give me control).
-The Slow-Ups: From what I observed every time you go into Contacts, Calendar, Email the display shows and control to the user is delayed. This is the result of the phone trying to go on the web looking for updates. I can understand for pop and if you have not updated the Contacts, Calendar or Email account. However I am using Exchange. Exchange does not need to do an update. It is push. Push only updates when there is a new item. The implementation seems to be flawed in that it is not need to connect to the network every time you access the Contacts, Calendar or Email account.
-Battery: Wow I was amazed the battery life. It lasted about 2-3 hours longer than my MS device. I did not charge it during the day. It got nervously close to empty, but the battery meter was very accurate.
-Things missing: Cut and Paste. Can't sort email. Can't snooze alerts. I use Cut and Paste all the time on my MS Phone. What am I going to do on the iPhone?
-What I like: The Web. The Web. The Web. Wow, as advertised I get the entire web. And it works. Visual Voicemail...very cool. Slick fast interface. Even when it is slow it speeds back up within 1 to 2 secs. What else? What else? Well I think that is good for Day 1. Stay tuned for Day2.
